Bakuman – Mia’s anime review

If I follow my dream and it shatters – I can accept having to regret that. But I don’t want to regret not pursuing it in the first place- Akito Takagi

Dreams are there to be achieved. I believe everyone had their own little dream when they were kids. Like, for example, I dreamed of being a writer when I’m old enough to be one. Now, here I am, being a manga or anime reviewer in a fabulous group with talented members. I know all of you have your own different story about your dreams, right? But, now I would like to invite all of you to take a look at this tremendous anime titled Bakuman.

General Information

Originally, Bakuman. (バクマン。)  is a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, who were responsible for Death Note. Weekly Shōnen Jump serialized  it in the magazine  from August 11, 2008 to April 23, 2012, with the 176 chapters collected into 20 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha. Suprisingly, some characters resemble real authors and editors of Weekly Shōnen Jump, and many manga titles that mentioned in Bakuman did exist in real life.

An anime television adaptation of the series created by J.C.Staff began airing on NHK-E on October 2, 2010. A live-action film adaptation was released on October 3, 2015. For its achievement, Bakuman was the seventh best-selling manga series of 2011 and the tenth best of 2012, and had over 15 million volumes in circulation by May 2014.

Additionally, it is the first manga released online by Shueisha in multiple languages before becoming available in print outside Japan. In 2009, Viz Media announced it had licensed the series for a North American release. Besides releasing the series in collected volumes, they also released it in their online manga anthology Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha.

Actually, this anime wasn’t based on a real story but it seems like it was adapted from it. To put it simple, this anime tells about two middle school students who want to achieve their dreams. They want to become manga artists. Though, the road to success seems so hard to walk on because of too many rejections, the two of them didn’t give up fast. One of them even make a promise to a girl he wants to marry in the future that he will propose to her when his dream has come true.

Wow, that’s truly can be a big motivation for him. Actually, it’s a good method for us to follow. Whenever, we had a thing on mind like what we would like to do, we had to promised ourselves a gift or anything it is, so that, we can be motivated to fulfil the job.

Honestly, some people around me told me that they’re motivated to achieve their dream thanks to this anime (some of them read the manga 📚📚 version).

Things You Would like about Bakuman

Good balance of moral and inspiration

Truthfully said, some anime or manga are entertaining for me but Bakuman is the only anime that are entertaining yet motivational. It inspired me a lot, and perhaps, only Bakuman can make me in awe. This anime has a good balance right from the start until the end. It doesn’t have any complicated story line, and it’s pretty easy to digest. It feels like you will ensoul the main character as you watch this anime.

A little spark of romance 🍬🍬

Though it’s only a little spark but it makes you got butterflies in your stomach. It’s so sweet when Mashiro promised to marry Azuki, his dream girl, if his manga adapted to an anime one day.  Both of them are cutie pies. Love how Azuki is shy yet straight forward!!!

Great lesson for future manga artist

Special call out to all of the future manga artists!!! If you would like to learn a lesson for free, go watch this anime or the manga will do (XD). Bakuman teaches audience to master the way to draw, even they show the process of drawing of the two main characters studied their genres until they master and learn the way how to draw perfectly.

Best recommendation for all of you

Overall, this anime gets 8 out of 10 for the best inspirational anime. You watch it, ensoul it and get inspired from it. The moral message of this anime is for you to achieve your dream, despite how difficult the way or the process is, at least, you try to achieve it.
