Hey anime and manga faaaaaans!!! 😆 As always, Rano is back with yet another special review for another special manga: Hapi Mari!!!
All you need to know before reading is that my reviews are free of spoilers 😎
Hapi Mari is a Japanese completed manga which is also known as “Happy Marriage.” Its serialization began on June 14, 2009 and ran until September 23, 2012. It was completed after 10 volumes.
N.B ☝ Hapi Mari is categorized as a “smut manga” thought to be honest, it’s not really that. It may contain 3 pages of 16+ content in only 3 chapters but other than that it’s safe to read.
The story revolves around Chiwa Takanashi, a 23-year-old ordinary office-lady that never had the time nor the opportunity to have a boyfriend in her entire life. In order to pay off her dad’s debts though, Chiwa agrees to an arranged marriage with the president of the company she works in – Hokuto Mamiya. Chiwa believes the arrangement isn’t binding, but her new partner seems to think otherwise. This comedy tells the story of these two strangers living together and their way of finding a happy marriage.
As always I’ll be telling you guys about our main characters and leave you to know the others by yourselves while enjoying reading this awesome and unique manga.
Now I’m gonna tell you about our couple!
A normal girl who had to work at day in a company and at night in a bar in order to pay off her father’s debts. She is a kind and beautiful girl who never had the chance to fall in love due to her circumstances. Will this arranged marriage be her way to find love? For me, I hope sooo!! 😢 She is such a poor girl who deserves to be loved and fall in love.
N.B : ☝ Chiwa will be appearing with many family names so don’t worry or get confused.
Our typical handsome boss who has a lot of admirers. He agreed to this arranged marriage because it was his grandfather’s wish and it was his way to take over the company.
I really want to talk more about him but that will be ruining the fun of reading this manga so I’ll cut my fingers before writing more about Hokuto. 🗡🖐
Things I’ve liked in Hapi Mari
- The name is attractive and gives you the urge to know what is this manga about.
- The plot is also a special one; 😍 you can’t find many manga talking about a plot like that.
- The drawings were also professionally drawn! 🤔 This is evident even from the 1st chapter.
- Never get boring! 🤩 Things are funny, interesting and it didn’t reach the point were things feel normal or boring to the reader.
Things I’ve hated in Hapi Mari
Actually, Hapi Mari was a perfect manga with nothing to hate or comment badly on it. That’s why it’s one of my favorite (Though it’s true, I know I many favorites here 😂).
I was totally satisfied when I reached the end of the story, it was a closed one full of feelings and many surprises.
I don’t think that it needs another season at all although it was a funny and love-to- read manga.
N.B ☝ This manga was adapted as a drama and it’s completed with 12 episodes. I haven’t watched it yet but I’m planning to do so. 😆
