Hey anime and manga faaaaans! XD I’m back with another special review for a unique manga. For you guys who doesn’t know me, I’m Rano and I make reviews with NO SPOILERS !!!
Pocha ma ni is a Japanese series which was released in 2012 and its last chapter was in 2016. The title’s meaning is “In a baby” but it doesn’t make sense so it’s known by its Japanese title more than the English title.
Mugi is a chubby girl with a kind spirit and beautiful smile. Her weight is not a problem to her and she is comfortable with it. Nonetheless, she thought that she would never have the opportunity to fall in love. That is until… she meets Tagami, a boy who is a “pochama,” or someone who likes soft and squishy things. Love has a chance to blossom, and Mugi comes to realize that she loves herself as is.
The story is a very unique one to read 😍😍😍 and for the first time our heroine is a chubby girl!
I’m gonna talk about our main characters as usual and leave you guys to discover the rest of them while reading 😜😜😜
Our heroine with a charming character and a little different from other girls XD She is a chubby girl who is comfortable about her looks and body and like other girls wants to love and be loved. Would she be able to find love when she meet a ” Pochama ” ?!
Our perfect, handsome and hot hero! XD His classmates were shocked to know he is the so-called “Pochama.”
As previously mentioned, being a “Pochama” means he loves chubby and soft people. Would love knock on Mugi’s door having a handsome guy like him appearing in front of her?! Can Tagami make difference in Mugi’s life and his life?
Read this manga to know the answers 😜😜
Things I liked
The story is definitely a new unique one! We don’t get to see a manga girl with a chubby body. They are always so thin !!! Which can send false signals to readers that only thin girls with perfect bodies are the only ones who can find love.
This manga shows that perfection is not like what most people think! It’s not about looks or body and that’s something I respect the most. The drawings were pretty cool too. I enjoyed reading this manga a lot as it also shows how high school students think and how can people hurt others without noticing.
Things I hated
The title didn’t attract me, it was hard to understand. I noted, later on though, that it’s the most suitable for the manga. This kind of contradiction is weird and i still wish it had another name.
I liked how things ended and i wish if this manga was longer or they turned it into anime.
People need to see that love has no borders and is not related by hair, looks or body. Love is all about personality and heart.
I want to thank the author for this awesome manga, for showing people what real perfection is about and for giving hope for others.
