“The world requires choice and resolution. Embrace it and face it.”

– Meteora Österreich – Re:Creators

Let’s think that we are the famous manga authors. Our stories are full of wars, deaths, sufferings and sorrows. The main characters that we created as heroes love their world. Therefore, they are trying their best to get rid of the war and the miseries. Suddenly those characters came to our world. Hence realize that their world is just a story to entertain the peoples in this realm. Seems like they think you authors are the one responsible for their and their world’s miseries. This is the base plot of the anime Re:Creators.

The story starts with Sōta Mizushino, a high school student and anime fan who accidentally travels to a dimension of an anime named Elemental Symphony of Vogelchevalier. When Sota arrives there he finds his favorite character Selesia Upitiria battling an unknown enemy known as Military Uniform Princess. in the middle of the battle, both Sota and Selesia travel back to real dimension of Sota’s world. Selesia then realizes that this world is the land of gods and creators and that they are responsible for creating her world by writing novels.

The Military Uniform Princess finds Selesia and offers her to join the team she created to change the sufferings of their worlds. Upon refusing the offer, Selesia engages in a battle with the antagonist and meets Meteora Österreich who arrives to aid her. She also realizes that she is not the only one here from other dimensions.

Selesia and Meteora decide to meet their creators and if possible force them to change the sufferings of their worlds. After meeting Takashi Matsubara the creator of Elemental Symphony of Vogelchevalier (Selesia’s dimension)she realizes that changing a story without the acceptance of the viewers or readers will change nothing and even easier said than done. But not all the creations think same as Selestia and Meteora. This contradiction slowly turns into a war between the creators and the creations.

What I think about this anime

I really don’t have a problem with the graphics, soundtracks and the dialogues as long as the story is good enough. But Re:Creators anime actually is all-in-one package for an anime.

So, if you talk about the graphics, the character and the environment design, this anime really is a great one. Each character design is really unique and awesome. Each of the battleground is amazing given that it is also full of details. This really made me enjoy watching the series.

Music and soundtracks created by Hiroyuki Sawano are really mind-blowing. They make each battle scene even more intense and drown you in the story.

Story-wise, I think it’s awesome and totally different from other anime you’ve ever seen. The story will make you realize that even you won’t be the same if you are put in a different story. The story has too many twists like the negative characters changing into a hero in the real world. Creations are really so confusing in the real world that you’ll never know when they will change or if they will turn into an ally or an enemy. A hero in a story might be changed into a villain if he is put into another story.

If you haven’t watched this anime don’t waste time and go for it.
